The SPS Sedation Card is a quick pocket reference for sedation providers to use during procedural sedation at various locations outside the operating room. The Sedation Card’s unique features include prescreening guidance for children who are at high risk for sedation adverse events, information about recognition and intervention for sedation adverse events, and criteria for discharge.
The ASA-PS classification, Mallampati classification, latest pre-procedure fasting (NPO) guidelines, and a pre-sedation SAMPLE evaluation are also provided. Commonly used sedation medications, their dosing, and routes of administration, as well as side effects and precautions, are also delineated in a convenient reference chart.
