What are some of the characteristics of high-performance pediatric procedural sedation programs as demonstrated by SPS institutional members? To answer this question, the Quality and Safety Committee developed a comprehensive survey in 2017 structured around the Institute of Medicine’s 6 domains of healthcare quality:
- Safety
- Effectiveness
- Efficiency
- Timeliness
- Patient- and family-centered experience
- Equitability
This survey was developed in tandem with the SPS Center of Excellence (COE) designation process. The goals of the survey were to update SPS institutional member demographic information, review current quality practices, and identify additional opportunities for the COE process.
In its first iteration, the institutional member survey contained 123 available questions and was distributed in August 2017. View list of participating institutions.
